Letter from Salloum to Alice Mokarzel Jaoudi

Title

Letter from Salloum to Alice Mokarzel Jaoudi

Description

A letter from Salloum to his daughter, Alice Mokarzel, written in New York City. In this letter, dated February 4, 1926, Salloum finally writes Alice back explaining that how endearing her letters are and how much comfort he finds in reading her letters and learning about everything she is doing. He is proud of all of her school accomplishments, her progress in piano lessons, and her new hobby of oil painting. He was reminded of her when he saw a father and his daughter shoveling snow from the sidewalk. Ultimately, he works hard to earn and she works hard to learn but soon they will be reunited. In the postscript, Salloum explains that he hoped the Christmas money he sent Alice and her siblings would have arrived before Christmas but nevertheless he hopes they made good use of the money.
