Digital Archive

The Interactive Digital Archive is the foundational work of our cultural projects. It houses primary resources collected from Lebanese-Americans, cultural institutions and research on immigrants in the United States. We are constantly adding material to the archive and welcome any suggestions you have or contributions you would like to make.

  • View Our Complete Collections: The comprehensive Finding Guide includes both public and restricted material.
  • Explore Our Content: View the collection tree to examine the archive's scope.
  • Collections: Collections' names refer to their donor or the category covered.
  • Items: Item types include individual photos, texts, recordings, films, newspapers and more.
  • Advanced Search: The advanced search lets you type words such as "marriage" and a list of all items in our collection that have been "tagged" (i.e. indexed) with the word marriage will appear. While we try to be thorough in our indexing, we cannot always cover every possible iteration, so try different synonyms if you cannot locate the item you want.
  • Browse by metadata: Access items by Library of Congress Subject Heading, language, item type, and more!
  • Search in Arabic: Some--but not all--items are cataloged in both English and Arabic.
