Letter from Alice to Salloum Mokarzel
Title
Letter from Alice to Salloum Mokarzel
Description
A letter from Alice to her father, Salloum Mokarzel, written in Beirut, Greater Syria (modern-day Lebanon). In this letter, dated February 21, 1926, Alice finally received her father's letter and is glad to hear from him. She tells him about her and her sisters' scholarly accomplishments in school. However, she and her sisters feel awfully homesick. Alice wishes she was back in her "real home in America." Mary and Rose want to live in the city but Alice would rather live in their house in Cranford, New Jersey. It is getting cold in Beirut, but Alice asserts that it will never snow there. She misses the snow and wishes she could return to America at once.
