Letter from Alice to Salloum Mokarzel

Title

Letter from Alice to Salloum Mokarzel

Description

A letter from Alice to her father, Salloum Mokarzel, written in Beirut, Greater Syria (modern-day Lebanon). In this letter, dated February 27, 1926, Alice tells her father of new and exciting experiences. Alice's love for music is tremendous and she is especially pleased because she has been going to a lot of music concerts. Her piano teacher's husband is said to be the best in "all Syria and Palestine." Soon Alice is going to perform a piece with her teacher and another student and she wishes her father could be there. She apologizes about the expensive cost of her piano but believes it's worth it because she is advancing. Alice then goes on to describe her and Mary's interesting experience at a Muslim wedding.
