Letter from Alice to Salloum Mokarzel

Title

Letter from Alice to Salloum Mokarzel

Description

A letter from Alice to her father, Salloum Mokarzel, written in Bayt Shabab, Greater Syria (modern-day Lebanon). In this letter, dated January 8. 1926, Alice writes to her father on his birthday and wishes him the happiest of days. The family went to dinner at the Haik's house. Mr. Haik and Salloum's relationship is unclear. However, there is no doubt that they were close from a young age. Mr. Haik has pictures of him and Salloum when they were both young and attached to each other. Alice ends by describing a respectable man that is interested in Rose. She believes he is a good match for Rose and thinks her father would like him.
