Description
A letter from Alice to her father Salloum Mokarzel, written from their mountain home in Machghara, Greater Syria (modern-day Lebanon). In this letter, dated August 31, 1925, Alice explains that two days after her mother Helen sent a telegram to the American school, Salloum's letters finally arrived in Lebanon. On their way to the store, Alice and Mary stopped by the post office, but when the postman told them the letters had come in, they burst into happiness ran back home, without even stopping by the store. The girls and Helen have went to dinners and breakfasts in the mountains, and with lots of food and dancing, they were bound to have fun.
