Description
Vol. 2 No. 3 of الفنون, Al-Funun, was published in August 1916. It contains a short story by Ameen Rihani, as well as continuing the serialization of his novella Zanbaqat al-Ghawr [The Lily of the Valley]. Additional work by mahjari authors include a short story by Abdul Massih Haddad; poetry and art by Kahlil Gibran; criticism by Mikhail Naimy; a short story by William Catzeflis; and poetry by Elia abu Madey. Authors who are translated in this issue include: Nathaniel Hawthorne, Oscar Wilde, and Charles Baudelaire. The issue also has a number of poems and essays by unknown authors.
