Vol. 2 no. 6 of al-Majalla al-Tijarriya contains: the second installment of the Guaranty Trust Company's report on "Effects of the War on European Neutrals," this time focusing on Norway and Sweden; a summary economic depression and its effect on American businesses; an article on the commercial importance of Beirut; and surveys of economic conditions in the United States and in foreign countries. Translatoins include an address delivered by Secretary of Commerce Alexander and a an address on industrial unrest and labor dispute given by Judge Gary, chairman of the Board of Directors of the nited States Steel Corporation. Salloum Mokarzel's editorial recommends that Syrian businessmen take a cautious strategy in navigating the "unsettled conditions of business" in the United States.
