كتاب الغريب في الغرب [Kitab al-Ghareeb fi al-Gharb], or Strangers in the West: The Trip of Mikhail Asad Rustum to America, 1885-1895was one of the first, if not the first, travelogues about America written by an Arab author. It recounts the author's emigration from Mount Lebanon to North America rendered in poems, with description of the journey, experience with peddling, life in the US, eulogies, humorous tales, and observations. Additionally, Rustum included a critique of the representation of Syrians in the 1893 Chicago World’s Columbian Exposition.

Originally published by al-Matba'a al-Sharqiyya (Eastern Press) out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, this is a scan of a facsimile edition produced in 1992 by Dar al-Hamra Publishing in Beirut, Lebanon.
