Angele and Zakia stayed in Marseille while their immigration papers were prepared and processed before they could sail to the United States of America. The note on the back is a letter from Angele Ellis to Toufic Ellis.

This was written and sent to Marseilles, France in order to help Angele Ellis emigrate to the United States. It notes Toufic's upstanding behavior in the Village of Carthage, New York.
