Description
An account of the resource
The play of Wafa al-Zaman "Faithful Time" came into two chapters. It was written by Rihani as part of the festival held by the Persian government in October 1934, to celebrate 1000 years of the Persian poet Firdawsi who wrote the Shahnama. The play of Rihani entails the story of Abu Qasim bin Mansour, known as Firdawsi, with the Sultan and the Zaman "Time".

Description
An account of the resource
Rihani presents to Arabic readers another part of the Arab history. He takes readers to Andalusia, where he tells the history of Arabic and Spanish arts and literature, and how they met and united on the Spanish land. Sources indicate that the Moroccan Sultan granted Rihani a medal of honor for writing the books of Noor al-Andalus "The Illumination of Andalusia" and al-Maghrab al-Aqsa "The Far Morocco".

Description
An account of the resource
Many sources have indicated that this book presented Rihani not only as an author, but also as historian, a poet, and philosopher. In this book Rihani describes his nine travels across Lebanon, his country. His poetic descriptions of mountains, rocks, trees and valleys added life to these elements in the book as if they can be seen and felt.

Description
An account of the resource
Rihani explains about the history of Iraq through his observations during a visit in early 1930's, starting from its numerous civilizations, describing its people, going through the 1920 Iraqi Revolt and independence, to the establishment of the Hashemite Kingdom of Iraq and the coronation of King Faisal I.

A play written by Rihani that discusses existing social differences among prisoners in one of Abdulhamid's prisons even following the revolution.
Note from translator L.S.: I think this work is part of Sejil al-Tawba. Sejil al-Tawba includes a story "the Prison of Abdulhamid" that highlights the still-exists social differences among prisoners in a prison, even after the revolution. While thiswork is called "Abdulhamid" only, but it is also about prisoners in a prison after the revolution
the book criticise the social differences inside the prison.

Handwritten comments and notes by Ameen Rihani from July 11, 1901 to November 22, 1901, as in the form of journals/diaries. They are simple in style, but rich in meaning. These writings show personal thoughts and concerns about family and friends. These thoughts also reflect the society as whole, because, in its personal definition, it carries general ideas and teaches social stories and lessons.

Description
An account of the resource
"The book contains five short stories that teach social and political lessons. These stories and lessons fall into two perceptions: Political as in the stories of "Sherif Efendi*" where [Sherif] loses hopes of any reform, and "The Prison of Abdulhamid" where Rihani refers to the existing social differences inside a prison, even after the revolution, and the third story of "Force Majoure/Acts of God" where the leaders/rulers of (Bal) city use this conception/pretext to practice injustice against the people of the city, but these leaders would experience the same injustice when the city is taken over. The second perception is Ethical/Moralistic. This is represented in the conflict between good and evil in the human nature, as in the story of "Nebuchadnezzar" the revenger who quit the life of a King to that of devotion". (This is a printed rare book as the original manuscript is missing)

Description
An account of the resource
Rihani's novel presents what is considered to be one of the most critical social issues at that time: a man, a woman then a child, and no marriage. It is a social tragedy that goes beyond one place or one person. The novel discusses the tragedy of a woman who surrenders to a man's desire without marriage, and the betrayal of the man. The woman holds her child and goes from one place to another. The tragedy repeats itself, when the child carries the same fate of her mother, and bears her own child without marriage as well.

The book can be considered the official history and biography of Al Saud "The House of Saud" - as described in some sources. It presents the history of Ibn Saud, the founder of Saudi Arabia, as told by him to Ameen Rihani during his visit to Najid
thus, Ibn Saud, the founder and king, is considered to be "the primary source of this history". The book also refers to the history of Wahhabism in Arabia, and contains dates of wars and uprisings that occurred in Hijaz and Najd in the early twentieth century until 1925.

Description
An account of the resource
The book discusses enhancing nationalism, reform and justice across Arab nations. To achieve this aim, Rihani urges not to consider the aspect of sect or religion as the identity of individuals, as this can only lead to division and discrimination, but rather to maintain tolerance and brotherhood towards each other, the people of the Arab nation. Thus, as he describes it, no one should say I am a Jew, a Muslim or a Christian, but I am Lebanese, Syrian, or Iraqi - one's country is their identity not their religion or sect. The book also sheds light on the importance of education, especially for the younger generation, however Rihani encourages the type of education that is based on national notion not religious. The book highlights the importance of listening to one another, and to understand, as a way to apply justice, and reform the system - not only the political, but also the economic and social.

Description
An account of the resource
Rihani highlights a number of recommendations for Arab poets to consider in their poems, in order to present a rich Arabic poetry in meaning and style. Rihani criticizes the style of wailing and weeping in Arabic poetry, and he called it "the weeping literature" and "the weak literature", and he made connection between this type of poetry and the weakness of the Arab nation and the current state of imperialism in many Arab countries (referring here to foreign mandates) - art as literature and poetry must urge people to unity and independence and enhance strength and nationalism. Rihani explains "we need a strong literature, because a weak one only serves those who want to control us". In addition, the book refers to the relation between poets and philosophers, how they share and meet in ideas and conceptions, but they differ in style. Rihani also refers to the relation between poetry and national issues, and how poets praise leaders and rulers of that time, and neglect their national issues, and he compares between Abu al-Ala al-Maarri, a poet from eleventh century, and those of the twentieth to give example.
