MINUTES OF THE EXECUTIVE BOARD
The meeting of the Executive Board for the year 1975-1976 was called
to order at 4:35 p.m. by the retiring Board Chairman, Ernest Saba.
The first order of Business, was the election of the new Board Chairman.
Ralph Abercia and Richard Ashy were nominated by those Board members
present. Nick Poris moved that the nominations cease, that the election
be by secret ballot, seconded by Marguerite Forducey and passed.
Ralph Abercia was elected the new Board Chairman by a vote of Abercia 9
Ashy 4.
Ralph Abercia - then appointed Dr. Edmond Mickal as the Parlimentarian
and thanked Ernest Saba on behalf of the entire Federation for his
guidance during these past three- years as Chairman of the Board. He
concluded by stating that he hoped that this new Board would carry on
the splendid work of the Federation, will work hand in hand to perpetuate
it.
Charles Mousa ~ominated Richard Ashy for Vice-Chairman of the Board,
seconded by Sandra Abercia and passed. Betty McKool moved that the
election of Richard Ashy be acclamation, seconded by Marguerite Forducey
and passed.
Nick Poris moved that Fred Zahran be replaced on the Board due to his
being unable to attend and the fact that he was elected State VicePresident of Nroth Carolina, seconded by Joe Ferris and passed.
Nick Poris nominated Liz Yamin for the vacancy, Judge Michael Zoghby
nominated Nick Solomon, both nominations being seconded and passed a
secret ballot followed in which Liz Yamin received 7 votes, Solomon 6
A revote was called in which Liz Yamin was ·elected to fill the vacancy
by a vote of 6 to Solomon 5.
Tommy Abraham was nominated by Charles Mousa seconded by Norman Topshe;
Nick Solomon nominated by Helen George, seconded by Zoghby, both nominations being passed a secret ballot followed. Tommy Abraham was elected
by a vote of 7 to 6.
The following members were present: Ralph Abercia, Raymond Zoghby,
Richard Ashy, Charles Mousa, Neil Corrado, Joe Ferris, Marguerite Forducey,
Joe Hatem, Sr., Helen George, Betty McKool, Nick Poris Norman Topshe,
George Zainey, Judge Michael Zoghby.
Upon motion being duly made, seconded and passed the meeting was
adjourned at 5:05 p.m.
