MAHMOUD REDA, Egypt's foremost
choreographer and director of the famous
Reda Dance Troupe
returns to Boston for~ two-day workshop at The Boston
Ballet School, 19 Clarendon Street - Boston.

Mr. Reda has studied and analyzed dances from different regions of Egypt
for over thirty years and has developed his own technique of instructing
others in authentic Egyptian dance. He has traveled to 58 · countries with
his Reda Dance Troupe" entertaining many heads of states.
Also, he was a
Leading actor, dancer and choreographer in three successful Egyptian films
and trained dancers for plays and operettas.

He is the epitome of what dancers and teachers are trying to emulate.
His
work has influenced some of the changes and directions that has affected
the style of orientale dance since the Late 1950's. Mahmoud will bring to
you this straight "pipeline" of information and the wealth of knowledge he
posses.
He will
teach authentic steps and then show you how to use them
in both ethnic and cabaret dancing. There is no one better who understands
this dance than Mahmoud himself. His clear and precise instructions Leave

Mahmoud Reda's teaching method includes the following:
1. Warmups, composed of the basic movements of his style arranged
logically for this purpose.
2. Learning and mastering the basic steps and movements.
3. Using the basic movements in different combinations and routines.
4. Putting all what is mastered in a complete dance choreographed
especially for this purpose.
5. Introducing the basics of choreography to dancers who like · to
choreograph their own dances.
6. Giving both body and mind enough exercise for a healthy dancer.

Cyclorama Building (Just around the corner from the workshop) as
sooi:i as the workshop ends. Your tapes will then be logged in
assigne_d a sequential number and a s .ound check will be done at
that . time. Please do not be late - doors open to the general
public at 6:00pm and we must be finished by 5:30pm.
When each show segment is ready to begin, all dancers should be
in costume and ready on time. The figure to the right is the
length of the act.
