Biography

Antoine F. Khater is a poet, translator, and theoretical physicist. Khater was born in 1948 in Broummana, Lebanon to Fouad and Hind Khater. After completing his primary and secondary education in Lebanon, Khater studied at the University of Essex in Colchester, Britain. In 1978, he served as a tenured university professor at the Universidade Federal Fluminese in Niterói, Brazil.

In 1981, he returned to Lebanon to live and work as a professor until 1985, when he immigrated to France. Khater has lived and worked in France since. He is currently a University Distinguished Professor in Theoretical Physics at the University du Maine in Le Mans, France.

Scope and Content

This collection contains poetry written by Khater in the 1970s. Subjects of the poems include interpersonal relations and the complex emotions experienced by the poet upon leaving Lebanon.
